The Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO) is now seeking inspectors for the information service unit to develop state supervision and licensing assessment.

About the job

As an inspector at the Information Service, you will primarily work with contacting individuals and professionals via phone and email. You will answer questions, receive information, provide guidance, and assist within the healthcare sector. You will receive descriptions of events and explain in an educational manner the roles and responsibilities of IVO and other actors within healthcare.

Your main tasks will include:

  • contacting both individuals and professionals
  • receiving and managing information and descriptions of events
  • explaining IVO's and other actors' roles and responsibilities within healthcare in an educational manner
  • searching for and using legal information within the healthcare sector
  • scheduled phone hours of about 10 hours per week, with access to collegial support
  • handling difficult and emotionally demanding calls
  • performing individual tasks and having specific areas of responsibility based on the needs of the organization and your own interests
  • assisting other functions within the agency
  • participating in and contributing to the agency's continuous improvement work

The positions are permanent with a six-month probationary period. The positions are based in Stockholm, but organizational conditions may allow for other placements. Travel may occur in the service.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Swedish nursing license
  • at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • good knowledge of how Swedish healthcare and social services are organized and function
  • good skills in Swedish, both spoken and written

To succeed in the role, you need to have a pronounced sense of good service and a positive attitude while being structured and able to prioritize and adapt tasks based on the needs of the organization.

The role requires you to absorb extensive information: You quickly find the core of the issue. You communicate easily and can adapt your communication to the recipient. Good collaboration skills, ease in making contacts, and a humble attitude are prerequisites for success with us. You have an interest in digital working methods.

In the recruitment process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

We consider it an advantage if you also have:

  • current legal knowledge in the healthcare sector
  • experience in communication via phone, chat, or other digital media regarding issues within the healthcare sector
  • experience working in a digital environment

Workplace Description

The Information Service is responsible for receiving information about risks and deficiencies within IVO's supervision areas via phone, email, and web forms. The unit is also responsible for informing and guiding the public and professionals regarding the laws and regulations governing healthcare and social services and answering general questions about IVO's licensing assessments.

The Information Service consists of about 25 people. Our work is characterized by community and team spirit. When you start with us, you will undergo both a joint agency and an individually tailored introductory training where you will receive guidance from experienced colleagues.

IVO contributes to safe and secure healthcare and social services. IVO stands for commitment and broad knowledge of Swedish healthcare and social services. We review, learn lessons, and work to make healthcare and social services better and safer – always focusing on patients and users.

The agency has about 800 employees. Supervision is conducted at six regional departments across the country, while licensing assessment, analysis, planning, communication, and operational support are located in Stockholm, as well as the director-general's staff.
